A cheating British wife who murdered her husband by poisoning his dinner and slitting his throat is winning rave reviews for her art shows on India's death row, MailOnline can reveal.

Videos and pictures show convicted killer Ramandeep Kaur Mann, from Derby, being applauded for the colourful artwork she has been doing behind bars - as well as the Christmas cards she made for senior officials.

Charity workers visiting the institution to distribute gifts for the festive season are then filmed being presented with some of Mann's elaborate paintings, which they closely inspect and admire, as she demurely looks on and smiles.

Mann, 39, was sentenced to death last October after being found guilty of colluding with her lover to murder her husband Sukhjit Singh, 34, while they were on holiday in India.

She laced his biryani dinner with sedatives and slit his throat as he slept in the marital during a trip to the country with their two children in 2016.

But his family have slammed the Christmas celebration of her prison artwork as ‘disgusting' and ‘insulting.'

Bans Kaur, Sukhjit's mother told MailOnline: ‘She does not deserve any applause and has no right to celebrate Christmas or any other occasion while I continue to suffer.

‘She is a cunning and evil woman, and I don't believe for one minute she has changed. This is all being done for her appeal against the death sentence and is an attempt to win favour with the jail authorities. It's absolutely disgusting.'

She added: ‘I will be speaking to the jail officials about this. For the sins that she has committed, she should be suffering in a cell not being given a chance to paint and have a comfortable life.'

As she awaits the hangman's noose, Mann is being housed in Shahjahanpur District Jail in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh where she is sharing a dormitory-style cell with 55 other female prisoners.

Officials told MailOnline that in addition to painting Mann has also been participating in yoga classes and providing English lessons for some of the female inmates and their children.

Jail Superintendent Mijaji Lal said: ‘When she came to the jail, she was a different person. She used to stay alone, depressed, and had difficulties with the jail culture and food. Her hair started falling out. We arranged special food as per her needs. We did counselling for many days, and she is a changed person now.'

He added: ‘She doesn't demand anything special. Just the painting brush and the colours for making paintings. Her health has also improved and her has stopped falling out.'

MailOnline was shown a Christmas card Mann made from Mr Lal in which she writes: ‘Dear Superintendent Sir. Merry Christmas. A Happy New Year!

‘I sincerely wish you lots of success and most importantly Great (sic) health. Thankyou for everything you do for me and the entire jail. We are really lucky to have you. Wishing you a great great year ahead of you.'

Mr Lal also revealed Mann's daily diet behind bars and that she no longer receives special food as when she first arrived.

He said: ‘She comfortably eats jail food. We provide porridge, jaggery, boiled chickpeas, and tea for breakfast, while dal, vegetables, chapati and rice are served for lunch and dinner.'

A judge at her trial at Shahjahanpur District Court found that Mann slit Sukhjit's throat after he fell into a deep sleep - helped by her lover Gurpreet Singh so they could benefit from a £2 million life insurance she had taken out in her husband's name and inherit his property.

Mann has launched an appeal against her death sentence but there is no date yet as to when it will be heard.

But Mrs Kaur said: ‘We have also submitted documents at the High Court as to why any appeal by her should be dismissed and that she should still receive the death sentence.

‘I will fight to the end to get justice for my son because what this woman did is unforgiveable. I don't care how good she is at art or what a model prisoner she has become because it means nothing.'

The painting is accompanied with the words: ‘Spectators are equal criminals. Be mighty, Not mute. Standup.'

Ironically, Mr Singh's brutal killing at the hands of Mann was witnessed by their eldest son Arjun, 18, who was aged nine at the time.

'I watched my mother murder my father... I look forward to seeing her HANG': Son of British death row wife who poisoned husband's biryani speaks out

He gave evidence against her which was instrumental in securing her conviction.

Arjun chillingly described to MailOnline how he saw his mother smother his father with a pillow before her lover hit him over the head with a hammer and then she slit his throat.

Arjun said: ‘There are not many children who watch their mother kill their father and then give evidence about it. How do you try and get on with your life after something like this?

I've had to be very brave and I'm proud of what I've done because I've got justice for my father.

‘My brother and me don't think of this woman as my mother anymore, she's evil.

‘We want nothing to do with her. As far as I'm concerned, she stopped being a mother to us the moment she murdered our father.'

Commenting on her death sentence, which in India is usually carried out by hanging he said: ‘I would like to be there when it happens. It doesn't fill me with fear, in fact, it would give me a lot of satisfaction and relief and I look forward to that day. I would like all my family to be there with me.

‘I would like to see with my own eyes that justice for my father has been served. She deserves to hang because she did such an evil thing she did.'

Sukhjeet Singh's mother with his two children Aaron and Arjun in India

Arjun was awoken on the night of the murder while he slept in an adjoining bed to his father as he did not eat the biryani laced with sedatives, which his younger brother Aaron, then aged 5, ate.

Recalling the events of the night, Arjun said: ‘I was fast asleep and then I heard a banging noise. I looked up from under the sheet and my mum was on top of my dad smothering him with a pillow.

‘Then Gurpreet, who I called "uncle Mithu" hit him over the head with a hammer. I remember the two of them then had a conversation saying "he's still alive. We've got to finish him off."

My mum then took the knife and slit his throat.'

Police arrived within an hour, but it was not until later that day that Arjun whispered to his grandmother what he witnessed as Mann was being spoken to by officers in a separate part of the house.

She was arrested at the family home in the village of Basantapur, north India, where they had been staying during the visit to Mr Singh's mother.
