The communication protocol used for network communication is yet another issue in which network admins must intervene to overcome interoperability differences by considering the networking gear to purchase. Network communication protocols like HTTP are now considered universal for compatibility among older and newer devices.


The approach to handling differing network communication standards is similarly decentralized in systems when only a small set of standard components are in use, much like a local area network. And more comprehensive in a larger enterprise environment where the number of differing communication modes increases. The most straightforward method to establish network communication that does not require the integration of numerous different hardware and software components is to enforce a standard communication protocol.
